Lately I've been really struck with the light on our property. In the summer we sleep with the shades up, I don't have any immediate neighbors so privacy isn't really a problem. In the morning I get to wake up as the sun streams across our bed. This has to be my favorite way to rise, sans alarm clock.
I'll miss this in a few months when sleeping with the shades up only means my bedroom will turn into a legitimate icebox, not to mention I'd be late for pretty much everything because it the sunrise is so much later in the winter.
The weather has been amazing these past few weeks. It's getting cooler and its perfect outdoor weather, which really means we are squeezing out the last park visits before school starts on the 28th and we all need a jacket.
Speaking of school my oldest is going to be a bigger kid on campus this year. The big first grade is approaching and he is looking forward. I hope his poor little nerdy heart isn't crushed the first few weeks when it's all kindergarten review. Little Man has another round of pre-k and it will be lovely to have my quiet mornings back. Although, I'm sure I will miss them the first few days.
I'm really going to try to post some of the many sewing pictures I have piling up. Hopefully this week. I've been sewing quite a bit this summer. Some of it has to remain under wraps, since I'll have my first ever magazine quilt! The rest however is in prep for Sewing Summit and for fun. I'm trying to work my way through several piles of fabric I've accumulated for projects and dresses I had intended to make. My efforts to not purchase more fabric has forced me to look at my stash differently, which has been a good challenge.
What are you doing with your remaining summer-like days?
