4 Words for 2013

How was your 2012?

Mine was way better, worse, better than I expected it to be. Then again...a lot can happen in 12 months. I don't really get into looking backwards. The news has been reviewing the top stories, fashions, and faux paus of the last year. It got me thinking about my last year, but more importantly what I hope to find in the next.

In January 2012 I got stir crazy. Living in a condo where all the furniture touched each other and two little boys running around drove me nuts.

In February we went to Arizona for my little brothers wedding. Gorgeous and lovely.

In March I turned 30, and survived.

In April, May, June I waited for the sun to come out. New England has records for several days in a row of rain. The is a reason we call it mud season.

In July we spent the summer at the park. Seriously EVERY day at the park or the pool. M and I also celebrated our 8th anniversary, stole away for a few days and realized how much we missed our kids.

August brought us to a new address, more rural than I ever imagined and such a breath of fresh air for us.

September both my boys started school. Hooray! (Except that I found myself running errands, attending meetings, and feeling overwhelmed). Ugh.

In October I experienced a serious breakdown. It was miserable. A whole wall of things compounded down on me with a heaviness and ugliness I have never experienced before or hope to ever again.

November brought in such relief as I found help in all the right places. Ask and ye shall be given.

In December my heart had found light again. We had an amazing Christmas. Talked my husband into celebrating at 9 and I went to bed early on New Years.

There is much still to be learned in 2013. Rather than setting up a whole list of detailed goals for myself, which I always get stressed about and down on myself for not meeting my own expectation (dumb), I'm going to keep my resolution down to 3 words (almost)

  1. Awesome post! I'm totally on board to make 2013 incredible in nearly every way. Even if it's just small things! No lists for me either, just keep moving forward!
