Home Tour is back! And so am I after a long weekend with my family in AZ.
So if you'll recall my living room / kitchen / dining room (otherwise known as a great room to some used to look like this... (picture yellow and red walls! Sorry, my computer is having a hard time exporting the previous photos right now.) After a hefty coat (2) of Behr Premium Paint and Primer in one, which is great paint by the way, we had a lovely shade of Sherwin Williams Sedate Grey (SW6169).
In case you didn't know, you can take any color swatch from any company and take it to Home Depot and they will do their best to match it. I haven't had any trouble with it and it always looks great!
The lush greenery from the outside makes some of the shots greenish, but I promise its grey.
Of course when you post pictures you notice all the dumb stuff... so please ignore my dish mat drying on the cupboard and the mess on the table!
I guess I missed taking a picture of this wall, but its a huge chrome metro rack filled with our dishes, once use appliances and kid snacks. This house doesn't have a pantry, so I opted to put our food in the cupboards and the dishes out.
New pillow covers to match the chairs I did last summer. A little to matchy-match for me, but I didn't have to go buy new fabric! Also I love the glass lamp on the left. A mom FREE roadside find! It was amber glass on the bottom...until mom started scrubbing...then all the cheap paint peeled off and left it clear. FYI a lamp like this at TJMaxx is $100. The coffee table in the middle I bought on Craigslist for $25. Its totally scratched up and I'll most likely paint it. The green grey rug used to be in the boys room.
I'm still working on putting things away/getting things out so the crate is there and all the cook books are way across the living room. I'll move some stuff around this week probably. One half of a metro rack is our TV console for now. I'd like to find a dresser to convert instead, but not right now.
I purposely have hardly hung a thing on the walls. It pains me after all the month long painting we did.
Lastly, the lovely nail-heads my mom did while she was here. She is so cool. She stayed here while we went to AZ in August (I know we are the greatest hosts!) And when we came back she had found the timely inspiration (or boredom) to tack all these babes in for me. I think about it every time I sit down.
Thanks mom!

It was my pleasure to finish up this project of nail heads from the summer before after all your hard work in reupholstering. Practice makes perfect as they say. I need more practice I see.
